Life Without Clean Water

Years of continuous drought have left communities across East Africa without clean water.

Children, and girls in particular, spend entire days walking to collect dirty water full of disease, bacteria, and animal faeces. They cannot attend school. The journey is arduous and dangerous.

No child should have to grow up like this.

Critical Health Risk

Waterborne diseases remain a leading cause of childhood mortality.

A Shallow Well: Simple, Sustainable, Life-Changing

Our water wells are dug up to 25 metres deep using professional drilling teams. The result is a clean, reliable, hygienic water source that can serve a small village for years to come. No more walking for hours. No more dirty water. No more children missing school. Once the well is drilled, it is equipped with:

A water pump

to draw water reliably to the surface.

A solar panel

to power the pump, ensuring water is available all the time.

Proper piping

to deliver water hygienically from the source to the surface.

A large water tank

to store water for the community.

Water taps

fitted for people to come and fill their containers easily and safely.

The Ripple Effect.

A single shallow well serves between 500 and 2,000 people. But the impact goes far beyond water.

Children go to school. Health improves dramatically as waterborne diseases are prevented at the source. Communities can grow food with water for irrigation. Hygiene becomes possible. Independence replaces dependence.

A well that lasts for decades gives a community the tools to sustain itself. This is not temporary relief. It is permanent, transformative change.

Build a Well in Memory or Honour of a Loved One

A water well provides clean water to an entire community for decades, and it can carry the name of someone you love. A personalised plaque bearing the name of your loved one will be displayed at the well site. Every time someone draws clean water, your dedication is there.

When you fund your well, let us know the name you would like on the plaque (up to 50 characters).
