Fulfill Your Obligation

Pay Your Fitra. Complete Your Ramadan.

Fitra is due before Eid al-Fitr, a purification of the fast and a means of ensuring every person can share in the joy of Eid.

Purification & Provision

The Final Act of Generosity in Ramadan

Fitra (also known as Fitrana or Zakat al-Fitr) is an obligatory payment every Muslim must make at the end of Ramadan, before the Eid al-Fitr prayer. It is separate from Zakat and required regardless of whether you fasted.

Its purpose is twofold: a purification of the fast, compensating for any shortcomings during the month, and a guarantee that the poor and needy have enough to eat and celebrate on the day of Eid. No one in the community should go hungry while others rejoice.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) prescribed Fitra as a duty upon every Muslim, young and old, male and female.

Who Receives Fitra?

Your Fitra goes directly to the most vulnerable members of our global community, ensuring no one is forgotten during the days of celebration.

NRF distributes Fitra as food (or the monetary equivalent) to families who would not have a meal on Eid day. Priority is given to orphaned children and their families, widowed households, displaced persons, and the elderly living alone.
