We Believe You

Deserve to Know

How your donation is used. What it costs to deliver it. And why honest charities do not pretend they have zero expenses.

Our Absolute Promise

"We will never hide how we spend your money."

We will never pretend running a charity costs nothing. And we will never apologise for investing in the systems, people, and processes that allow your donation to reach the families and children who need it.

The Breakdown

For Every £1 You Give

89p

/ £1

Charitable Programmes

Orphan care, clean water, food aid, education, housing, medical aid, emergency relief, and religious dues distribution. This is the money that builds wells, feeds families, sponsors children, and constructs homes.

This is not an estimate. It is how NRF operates, and we publish it openly because we believe you should know.

Institutional Truth

Why No Honest Charity Has Zero Costs

A charity needs reasonable operational costs to ensure aid reaches the right people, manage complex programmes, meet legal and compliance requirements, and raise the funds needed to grow its impact.

The question is not whether a charity has operational costs, but whether those costs are reasonable, effective and transparently reported. NRF chooses honesty. We openly explain our costs because transparency builds more trust than claims that sound too good to be true.

Leading sector voices have also challenged the focus on zero overheads, highlighting that underfunding essential operations can ultimately reduce a charity’s effectiveness and impact.

Operational Breakdown

What Your 11p Makes Possible?

The 11p reinvested from every £1 is not wasted. It is the engine that powers everything else. Here is what it covers:

The Myth of the Zero-Cost Charity
Some charities claim 100% goes to the cause.

This usually means one of three things:

01

A separate donor group covers all operating costs (legitimate but the total ratio across all donors is similar to other charities).

02

Operating costs are embedded in programme budgets (costs exist, they are just categorised differently).

03

The charity is genuinely underfunded (resulting in poor programmes, high turnover, weak compliance, and harm to communities).

NRF does not play accounting games. We tell you 20p goes to operations because it does. We do not hide costs inside programme budgets. We simply tell you the truth.

Lean UK Operations

Small, efficient team. Every operational pound is scrutinised.

That Is the Point.

89p to the programmes that change lives. 11p to the operations that make it all possible. Together, they add up to a charity that works honestly, efficiently, and transparently.
