No Family Should
Go Hungry

A Hunger Crisis
That Demands Action
In the countries where NRF operates, conflict, climate change, drought, and economic instability have deepened the hunger crisis. For orphans and widows who have lost their income, hunger is a daily reality.
Children grow up malnourished. Their growth is stunted. Generations are being lost to food scarcity.
When families do not have to spend every hour searching for food, they can focus on education, work, and building sustainable livelihoods.
NRF’s Feed the Poor campaign addresses this crisis directly, distributing food to orphans, widows, and destitute families across Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan, and East Africa.

School Lunch Programme
A Hot Meal That Keeps Children Learning
School Lunch Program
NRF
For many children in East Africa, the meal they receive at school is the only substantial food they eat all day. NRF provides a hot meal during the school day, consisting of meat with rice or beans with rice, plus water. When children know they will receive a meal at school, they are more likely to attend. Attendance rises. Concentration improves. Academic performance increases. School meals also help reduce child labour, as children are more likely to stay in education when they receive regular, nutritious food.
