As an organisation that works with orphaned children, displaced families and vulnerable communities, we recognise our special duty of care. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and it is central to who we are.

We believe everyone we work with, serve and encounter has the right to be protected from all forms of harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation.

Our commitment

Noor Relief Fund is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and adults at risk who come into contact with our work. We do this by:

Creating safe environments

We work to ensure everyone who encounters NRF is safe and treated with dignity and respect.

Safe recruitment

We carry out appropriate checks on our staff, volunteers and partners, including DBS checks where required.

Clear procedures

We have a Designated Safeguarding Lead and clear procedures for reporting and responding to concerns.

Training & awareness

Our people are trained to recognise, respond to and report safeguarding concerns.

Protecting dignity in our media

We only share images and stories with informed consent, and always represent people with dignity.

Holding partners to account

Our overseas partners are expected to meet safeguarding standards consistent with our own.

We have zero tolerance for abuse, exploitation or harm of any kind — including by our own staff, volunteers, trustees, partners or representatives.

Report a concern

If a child or adult is in immediate danger, always call the emergency services first — 999 in the UK, or your local emergency services if overseas.

If you have a safeguarding concern about anyone connected to Noor Relief Fund, please tell us straight away. Every concern is taken seriously and handled sensitively and confidentially.
